Police Arrest Two Suspects For Allegedly Kidnapping Housewife In Edo

Benin – Two suspects alleged to have kidnapped a housewife at Ubiaja, headquarters of Esan South East local government of Edo state have been arrested by men of the Anti- kidnapping squad of the state police command.

The suspects who were identified as Fidelis Oghughu and Emmanuel Ikebordih were said to have belong to a four -man kidnapping gang alleged to be terrorising Edo Central and its environs.

Reports had it that they have been on police wanted list linking them to several kidnap cases in Esan land.

According to the report, they had stormed the woman’s house where she was abducted at gun point and kept in the forest for several days.

It was gathered that they had thereafter opened negotiation for ransom with the family of the victim during which luck ran against them.

Source further said the victim’s family after the negotiation parted with an unspecified amount as ransom to affect her release.

But moment after the ransom was collected; the police went on the trail of the gang members leading to the arrest of the two suspects who were arrested in their hideouts while two others escaped.
